{"id":545,"date":"2024-05-22T12:40:23","date_gmt":"2024-05-22T09:40:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sigershop.eu\/?p=545"},"modified":"2024-05-22T13:00:34","modified_gmt":"2024-05-22T10:00:34","slug":"installation-guide-for-v-ray-material-presets-pro-vmppmax-for-3ds-max","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sigershop.eu\/vmppmax-rg-install\/","title":{"rendered":"Installation Guide for V-Ray Material Presets Pro (VMPPmax) for 3ds Max"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">System Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compatibility<\/strong>: V-Ray Material Presets Pro for 3ds Max v.4.x.x is compatible with 3ds Max 2013 or later, 64-bit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Download<\/strong>: The latest official version can be downloaded from Your Account > Purchase History > Your order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For any issues, check the \u201cTroubleshooting\u201d section or contact our support team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installation Directory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Default Directory<\/strong>: The plugin will be installed in the 3ds Max root directory: <code>\\bin\\assemblies\\<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Additional Files<\/strong>: Additional files will be placed in <code>C:\\VMPPmax\\<\/code> (this directory is mandatory and cannot be moved).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The installer also includes necessary Siger Studio plugins. If not installed or if outdated, the latest versions will be installed in the 3ds Max root directory: <code>\\plugins\\<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installation Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Download Installer and Additional Files<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download the installer archive (VMPPmaxSetup4xx.zip) and additional files (scenes4xx.zip and maps4xx.zip).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unpack the archives to a convenient location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Close 3ds Max<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure all instances of 3ds Max are closed before proceeding with the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run the Installer<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Run <code>VMPPmaxSetup4xx.exe<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, confirm the security prompt to continue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Accept Terms and Conditions<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carefully read and accept the Terms and Conditions to proceed with the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Select Plugins<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The installer will automatically detect compatible host applications. Select the 3ds Max plugins to install.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If installing VMPPmax on multiple versions of 3ds Max, copy the <code>VmppMax4_xxxx.dll<\/code> file from the root <code>\\bin\\assemblies\\<\/code> directory of one installation to the corresponding directory of the other 3ds Max versions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Copy Additional Files<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Copy the unpacked <code>maps4<\/code> directory to <code>C:\\VMPPmax\\<\/code> or another preferred location (including network drives). If moved, update the settings in \u201cVMPP Maps Directory Location\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the contents (not the folder) of the unpacked <code>scenes4xx.zip<\/code> directory to <code>C:\\VMPPmax\\scenes4\\scenes<\/code>. These files cannot be relocated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run 3ds Max and Access VMPPmax<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch 3ds Max and create access to VMPPmax.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the licensing instructions provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minor Version Upgrade<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Close 3ds Max<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure all instances of 3ds Max are closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Backup Configuration<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Backup or rename <code>vmppmax4Config.xml<\/code> from <code>C:\\VMPPmax<\/code> before installing the new version.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Run the Installer<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Follow the same procedure as a new installation. The installer will remove the previous version, allowing a seamless upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Import Settings<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Settings tab and click \u201cImport Settings\u2026\u201d. Select the backup\/renamed <code>vmppmax4Config.xml<\/code> file to restore your settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upgrading from VMPPmax3 to VMPPmax4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compatibility<\/strong>: VMPPmax4 can be installed alongside VMPPmax3 without conflict.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Upgrade Procedure<\/strong>: Follow the same steps as a new installation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For additional steps, refer to the file included in the installation archive.
