The 3D Scratches texture map plugin adds random scratches to the surface of an object, creating a worn and rough appearance. It applies several long, thin, and overlapping cuts in up to 8 different layers. With options for distortion and parameter mapping, you can generate an infinite variety of patterns.
Parameters
- Size: Defines the dimensions of the noise table. This parameter can be mapped with other textures.
- Threshold Low / High: Stretches the dynamic range to fill 0 to 1 when the noise value is between the Low and High thresholds.
- Color #1 / Color #2: Opens the Color Selector to choose between two primary noise colors. Intermediate colors are generated between the selected colors. Colors can be mapped with bitmaps or procedural maps by activating the checkboxes.
- Type: Two available types:
- 2D: Requires UVW mapping.
- 3D: Does not require UVW mapping.
- Spread: Controls the density and intensity of the scratches. This parameter can be mapped with other textures.
- Stretch: Adjusts the stretch factor for the scratch shape. Higher values produce thinner shapes. This parameter can be mapped with other textures.
- Erosion: Adds irregularity to the scratch shape.
- Erosion Scale Factor: Sets the scaling ratio for the size of erosion noise, depending on the type and size of scratches.
- Bump Delta: Controls the sharpness or softness of the bump effect created by the scratches. Lower values generate sharper transitions, while higher values create a softer bump effect.
